Morgana Counters

Dark Binding (Q) lands at 1250 range during Headbutt (W) windup, rooting Alistar inside his own dash. Black Shield (E) absorbs Pulverize (Q) knock-up entirely, and Tormented Shadow (W) pool out-pokes his short kit at 900 range.

Black Shield (E) blocks the Bandage Toss (Q) stun outright on the ADC until the shield breaks. Soul Shackles (R) chains and stuns you the moment you land beside her ADC, and Dark Binding (Q) roots you mid Q approach for a free trade back.

Black Shield (E) is the single hardest counter to a hook — it eats Rocket Grab (Q) entirely. Missed Q windows leave 16-20s of free aggression for Dark Binding (Q) plus Soul Shackles (R) chain crowd control to punish Blitzcrank.

Black Shield (E) blocks Head Rush (Q) stun and the Certain Death (R) fear, breaking Briar's engage window before Blood Frenzy (W) ramps. Dark Binding (Q) root locks her mid-Frenzy and Soul Shackles (R) chains AOE CC on the dive.

Black Shield (E) eats Cocoon (E) stun completely. Without the cocoon Elise has no setup, and Dark Binding (Q) root chains lockdown before Spider Form (R) can swap. Soul Shackles (R) chains AOE CC if she dives.

Black Shield (E) absorbs Terrify (Q) fear and Crowstorm's first AOE tick of magic damage on the carry. Dark Binding (Q) root cancels Crowstorm (R) channel mid-cast, and Soul Shackles (R) chains AOE CC during the engage window.

Dark Binding (Q) is a linear skillshot, not point-and-click: landing it during Devastating Charge (E) collapses your speed and Warpath (P) gives nothing back, so angle the charge to dodge it. Black Shield (E) on her carry also eats the Onslaught of Shadows (R) fear.

Black Shield (E) spell-shield blocks Rootcaller (Q) root completely, undoing the entire setup. Dark Binding (Q) roots him out of his cast window, and Soul Shackles (R) chain stun catches him without escape in Brushmaker (W) brush.

Black Shield (E) blocks Zenith Blade (E) root entirely — Leona flashes in for nothing. Dark Binding (Q) root chains Soul Shackles (R) AOE tether that finishes Leona inside her own engage, and Tormented Shadow (W) zones the all-in landing point.

Black Shield (E) prevents Nether Grasp (R) channel from ever applying suppression. Cast it pre-emptively the moment Malzahar walks in range and the ultimate goes on cooldown for nothing while Malefic Visions (E) DOT also blocks during the shield window.

Black Shield (E) pre-cast blocks Dredge Line (Q) hook entirely, removing Nautilus's only engage tool for 5+ seconds. Without Q his kit collapses to a melee bruiser with no gap-close and Dark Binding (Q) plus Soul Shackles (R) lock him down through Titan's Wrath (W).

Morgana's Black Shield blocks Poppy's Heroic Charge stun entirely — the dash connects but the wall-stun never procs, leaving Poppy stranded next to the ADC with no follow-up.

Morgana's Black Shield prevents Phantom Undertow stun on her ADC and blocks Bone Skewer's slow-on-pierce — without the lockdown chain, Pyke cannot reach Death From Below execute range.

Black Shield (E) blocks Grand Entrance (W) knock-up plus Battle Dance (E) jump CC chain in one cast — Rakan's flash-engage lands on a shielded carry who walks out and trades back. The Quickness (R) charm spread is also blocked, denying the kill the enemy bot lane is built around.

Morgana's Black Shield blocks the Ferromancy: Crash Down knock-up and the Magnet Storm pull entirely — Rell flashes in for nothing. Dark Binding root locks Rell during Mounted Up transformation cast.

Morgana's Black Shield E blocks Handshake's initial root outright — no recast becomes available because the Q never connects. Dark Binding root locks Renata during the Hostile Takeover R cast windup, and Soul Shackles tether ult chains a stun during the Handshake recast attempt.

Dark Binding (Q) is a 1250-range root that interrupts Wild Rush (E) mid-dash and Black Shield (E) on the enemy ADC absorbs the CC Samira's support sets up. Soul Shackles (R) chains a second stun if she walks up to channel Inferno Trigger (R).

Black Shield (E) on the ADC blocks Shadow Dash (E) taunt entirely — Shen dashes in for nothing and his only lockdown tool is wasted on an 18s cooldown at rank 1. Dark Binding (Q) catches Shen mid-Stand United (R) channel and cancels the global engage.

Morgana's Dark Binding Q roots from 1250 units, further than Abyssal Dive reaches at any rank, so it lands before Tahm can dive in — and he has no dash to sidestep the slow projectile.

Morgana's Black Shield E on her ADC blocks Bastion-extended Dazzle E stun, breaking Taric's only hard crowd control. Dark Binding Q roots Taric out of Bastion W tether range, Tormented Shadow W chips him during the root.

Dark Binding (Q) roots Vi for up to 3s before she can cast Cease and Desist (R), leaving her stuck without engage and without escape. Black Shield (E) on her ADC blocks the entire Vi knock-up CC chain and Soul Shackles (R) chains a stun back.

Dark Binding Q roots Xin Zhao while he is charging in, stopping Wind Becomes Lightning plus E chain before it starts. Black Shield E protects Morgana's carry from his Q knockup CC, and Soul Shackles R chains AOE stun if Xin commits.

Black Shield E blocks Elastic Slingshot E knockup and the Stretching Strikes Q pull entirely — Zac flashes in for nothing. Dark Binding Q root catches Zac mid-charge windup, and Soul Shackles R chains AOE stun back during his exposed landing animation.
